Vancouver Fringe Festival 2026
Independent Performing Arts Return for the 2026 Vancouver Fringe Festival
The Vancouver Fringe Festival returns to Granville Island and nearby venues from September 10 to 20, 2026. Operating as an annual, non-curated performing arts festival, the event selects participating artists through an un-curated lottery system to lower structural barriers for independent creators.
This year's theme, Every Kind of Everything, anchors a lineup of more than 80 productions featuring international and local creators. The festival schedule includes two days of free Kids Fringe programming alongside the return of the all-ages Fringe Patio, which provides free nightly entertainment starting Labour Day weekend (September 5–7).
Festival Overview and Key Features
Non-Curated Selection: Showcases independent theater, comedy, and multi-disciplinary performance works selected via lottery.
2SLGBTQiA+ Inclusion: Features artists, stories, and performances representing diverse voices across the 2SLGBTQiA+ community.
Community Access: Offers free programming at the Fringe Patio and free family activities through Kids Fringe.
