Laughs in Queer is a monthly open-mic event for all your 2SLGBT+ comedy cravings!!
Taking place monthly at @the.closet.upstairs Laughs in Queer is a place to meet friends, laugh, and try stand up with each other in a safe community environment
Come early to hangout, write, or meet friends before the open-mic at 7:00 PM where folks are encouraged to get up on stage to show their stuff. Even if you only have one joke, we want you on stage to tell it!!
Stay after the open-mic for the social between 9:15 PM to 10:30 PM+ for the chance to connect with each other
Drinks are available to folks to order at any point in the night!
Tickets are $15 or PWYC
Laughs in Queer is STRICTLY AGAINST homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, racism, sexism, and ableism along with all other forms of identity based oppression.
The goal of Laughs in Queer is to create a space where folks can share their own stories, using comedy to build a more loving and joyful community. Comedy with intention to put people down or make fun of an identity you do not personally hold will be removed from the space.
ACCESSIBILITY:
The Closet is located up 27 stairs with handrails on each side, washrooms will be all genders.
