Echo - Stories that still resonate
Queer history isn’t just in the past—it lives in us today. Join us Sunday, November 2nd, at The Junction for ECHO, an afternoon of storytelling, history, and celebration. Hear the voices that dared to speak up, love out loud, resist, and reshape the law.
This year, ECHO highlights two landmark anniversaries:
25 Years Since Little Sister’s Bookstore v. Canada – Historian and storyteller Glenn Tkach (he/him) shares the story of Vancouver’s Little Sister’s Book & Art Emporium, which fought censorship and won the right for queer and trans stories to be seen and heard.
25 Years Since the Modernization of Benefits and Obligations Act – Libby Davies (she/her), Canada’s first openly lesbian MP, reflects on her role in advancing legal protections for same-sex couples.
Featured Voices:
Adrienne Rosen (she/they) — Member of the historic Brunswick Four, activist, and entrepreneur.
Glenn Tkach (he/him) — Creator of The Really Gay History Tour, presenting the Little Sister’s story.
Libby Davies (she/her) — Former MP, reflecting on legal protections for same-sex couples.
Kendall Gender (she/her) — Host, drag performer, activist, and co-founder of Visible.
Be empowered by the courage of the past, inspired by the voices of today, and leave with a deeper connection to queer history and community.
Free tickets are available now — reserve your spot for an afternoon of reflection, joy, and queer brilliance.
