The Heat: An International Improv Comedy Showcase

The Heat: An International Improv Comedy Showcase
January 27–31, 2026 | The Improv Centre, Granville Island, Vancouver

The Improv Centre’s The Heat returns for its third year, bringing a global spark to Vancouver’s winter. From January 27 to 31, five nights of international improv take over Granville Island with performers from England, the United States, Aotearoa New Zealand, and right here in Vancouver.

This year’s lineup features Michelle Impro (London), Dumb John Improv (Chicago), Teresa & Folusho (London), Second Breakfast (Aotearoa New Zealand), and The Improv Centre. Together they’ll create spontaneous comedy that blends cultures, instincts, and traditions into something completely new each night.

The festival opens with an all-teams showcase followed by a talkback with the international artists. Each night after, audiences can expect fresh formats, inventive storytelling, and a chance to discover their favourite style of funny. Throughout the week, The Heat also offers workshops for experienced improvisors and a free all-levels Community Jam on Saturday.

Tickets start at $15 and are available at theimprovcentre.ca or in person at the TIC Box Office, 1502 Duranleau Street, Vancouver.
