Queering the Whistler Film Festival 2025
The Whistler Film Festival (WFF) returns from December 3 to 7, 2025, bringing filmmakers, actors, and audiences together in one of Canada’s most scenic locations. Each year, WFF showcases independent films from Canada and around the world, highlighting stories that challenge, entertain, and inspire. The festival combines in-person screenings in Whistler Village with online events, offering a mix of premieres, industry panels, and filmmaker talks. Known for its support of Canadian talent, WFF also provides an important platform for under-represented voices through its film programs, labs, and awards.
This year’s lineup continues the festival’s focus on inclusivity and innovation, featuring a range of genres and perspectives. Alongside its strong Indigenous and Canadian selections, the 2025 program includes films with 2SLGBTQiA+ representation, such as Starwalker, an Indigi-queer Two-Spirit story by Corey Payette.
With approximately 80 films (around 30 features and 50 shorts) the festival promises to be a meeting place for new ideas and creative exchange, offering both established and emerging creators an opportunity to connect with audiences and industry professionals in a relaxed mountain setting.
