Meet Jeff and Grungled. They certainly know frills, but do they know how to be men? KNOW FRILLS is a duo comedy show about masculinity beyond patriarchy. During a chaotic trip to the local grocery store, Jeff and Grungled battle the deluge of unspoken rules, riddles, and regiments of manhood, all while trying to find the produce aisle. Journey with these two wannabe gentlemen through a hilarious and topical dissection of the roles we all manifest, and don’t forget your reusable bags!
KNOW FRILLS is a world premiere production from Holy! Scoundrels! Theatre!, a cross-country creation by award-winning artists Nicholas Chieffo and Rainier Pearl-Styles. These Scoundrels celebrate the kooky, the irreverent, the classical, the ritualistic. All are wholly welcome: holy or not.

Plain Language Description:
Jeff & Grungled: KNOW FRILLS is a duo comedy show about two gender-less people who want to be men. Jeff is uptight and a know-it-all, and Grungled is happy-go-lucky and gullible. They receive a list of rules that they must follow to become men, then go to the local grocery store to learn more about masculinity. They observe other “shoppers,” who are members of the audience, to try and learn how to be men. Audience members can participate in the show by demonstrating certain tasks for Jeff and Grungled, if they want. Jeff and Grungled think they have learned what it means to be a man, but they are wrong a lot of the time. By the end of the show, Jeff and Grungled realize there is not a “right” way to be a man. They abandon their list of rules, and create a sense of masculinity that feels right for them.
