This mythical modern-day adventure explores the creative retelling of ancient Celtic myths of returning power to the Goddess of Earth. The original music, poetic storytelling, and puppetry will awaken imaginations to the wild, wondrous and magical worlds within and around.
The themes in Moonrise explore topics of ecological desecration, social injustices and the psychological distresses of a fraying social fabric. Themes also include overcoming and healing the wounds of imposed gender norms. The protagonist is a queer, gender-fluid being, as are many of the characters that help them find their way. We believe the protagonist’s journey is a story that can resonate with all who are seeking self-discovery and discovery of one’s place in a web of interconnectedness.
Ticket Price $25-$50 at the door, no one turned away for lack of funds and humans under 16 free
