Eastside Culture Crawl Marks 30 Years with Permanent Eastside Arts Society Venue

Eastside Culture Crawl Celebrates 30 Years of Opening Artist Studios Across East Vancouver

Vancouver’s Eastside Arts District welcomes the return of the Eastside Culture Crawl Visual Arts, Design & Craft Festival for its 30th annual run from November 19–22, 2026. The event offers a self-guided tour through the studios, workrooms, and galleries of more than 525 artists throughout East Vancouver. Visitors can walk through workspaces located in garages, warehouses, and dedicated studio buildings across the region bounded by Columbia Street, 1st Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront.

The festival spans painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glasswork, textiles, and furniture making. Over four days, attendees can speak directly with local creators, observe creative processes, and engage with artistic communities in the neighbourhood.

A Permanent Home at 716 E. Hastings Street

The 30th anniversary coincides with a major advancement for the Eastside Arts Society (EAS). To combat ongoing artist displacement caused by rising rents and local redevelopment, EAS established the Eastside Arts District in 2021. This year, EAS purchased a 5,980-square-foot facility at 716 E. Hastings Street through the City of Vancouver’s Making Space for Arts and Culture grant.

Alannah Clamp recently assumed the role of Artistic & Executive Director at EAS. Clamp notes that the 30th anniversary offers an opportunity to recognize the endurance and dedication of Vancouver's creative communities over the past three decades.

The new headquarters hosts the 2026 Preview Exhibition, titled P.A.R.T.Y. – Pushing Art diRectly To You, running November 5–28, 2026. Curated by Crawl artists Eri Ishii, Hugh Kearney, and Paul de Guzman, the juried showcase features 75 artists under one roof, returning the exhibition to its single-venue roots while highlighting direct artist-to-audience engagement.
