Motherland: Fort Salem fan convention: “City Drop” debuts this Fall

Vancouver Is Getting North America’s First Motherland: Fort Salem Fan Convention This Fall

Fans of Motherland: Fort Salem have a new reason to circle October on the calendar. This fall, Vancouver will host North America’s first convention dedicated entirely to the series. It’s called City Drop, and it lands October 17 to 18, 2026, right here in the city where the show was filmed.

For anyone who still misses the Bellweather Unit, this is your chance to step back into that world with the people who helped build it.

City Drop will bring together cast members and fans from across Canada, the United States, and beyond for a full weekend of panels, photo ops, autographs, meet and greets, and behind the scenes conversations. There will also be a Memorial Hall exhibit featuring original props and costumes from the series, which feels especially meaningful for a show with such a devoted following.

Several cast members are already confirmed. Arlen Aguayo-Stewart and Ess Hödlmoser, who played Nicte Batan and M, will attend. They’ll be joined by Lyne Renée, known to fans as General Alder, and Vancouver’s own Jessica Sutton, who played Tally Craven. More guest announcements are expected soon.

Motherland: Fort Salem is a supernatural drama series (originally aired on Freeform/Disney+) that completely flips the script on history. The story is set in an alternate version of America where the "Salem Witches" didn't die at the stake. Instead, they struck a deal with the U.S. government 300 years ago: the persecution would end in exchange for witches becoming the nation’s primary military defense

What made Motherland: Fort Salem stand out was not just its alternate history or its battle scenes. It placed queer characters and relationships at the center of the story. Not hinted at. Not sidelined. They were woven into the foundation of the series. That choice built a strong following, especially among 2SLGBTQiA+ viewers who saw themselves reflected in ways that still feel rare in genre television.

Shanna Cobb, Event Director of City Drop, says that connection is a big part of why this convention matters. From the beginning, the show attracted deeply passionate fans, particularly within the 2SLGBTQiA+ community. City Drop is designed to honour that visibility and the community that grew around it. Hosting the event in Vancouver brings everything back to where the story was brought to life on screen.

Beyond the cast appearances, the weekend will include Q and A panels, small group meetups, autograph sessions, and curated experiences that give fans space to connect with one another. The goal is to create an environment that reflects the themes that defined the show: resilience, acceptance, chosen family, and power.

City Drop is produced by ConFuzed Events, an independent events company based in California with team members across the East Coast and the UK. While Motherland: Fort Salem already has dedicated conventions in the UK and Europe, City Drop will be the first of its kind in North America.

Tickets are currently on sale through ConFuzed Events, with general admission and package options available. A limited number of payment plans are also being offered.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to gather with other queer fans who still carry this show close to their hearts, this might be it.
