Public Disco's Iconic PRIDE Block Party Returns to Mount Pleasant & is Almost Sold Out

Public Disco's Pride Block Party returns to Mount Pleasant on Saturday, August 1, marking 10 years of the non-profit's journey of turning unconventional urban spaces into pop-up dance-floors. Tickets are already 80% sold out.
The Public Disco Stage is curated by Jesse Walker and DJ dood. Headliners Colored Craig (LA/NY) and CarrieOnDisco (SF) will be joined by local selectors Overland, and Softieshan plus Toronto’s Yohomo founder Phillippe, with gogos curated and hosted by Gago 007. The Street Stage features takeover from local crew TeXture, centring Vancouver's queer underground with sets from Fisher Bryce b2b Ziggy Zaya, DJ dood, Lucci, and Jiggity Jeff b2b educación física. Where the Public Disco Stage holds a steady arc through disco and house, the Street Stage runs rawer and looser, leaning into more unpredictable corners of dance music. The programming is deeply rooted in the Black, queer, and trans origins of this music.
In terms of the venue, West 3rd & Ontario becomes a full street transformation, laneways and steel framed canopies turning an ordinary block into an open air dance floor. A food market runs all day (Mimi's Foccacia, Los Elotes, Taco Tigre, Mom's Grilled Cheese, Meet 2 Eat), alongside a Main Bar sponsored by 604Now, a Dinosour Bar from Phillips Brewing, and Public Disco's 10 Year Merch Collection at an on site Pop-Up Shop.
$2 from every ticket goes to Vancouver Pride Society's Bursary Program, funding community organizations that support initiatives lead by 2SLGBTQAI+ Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour communities.
The site is flat concrete and asphalt with no stairs, with a wheelchair accessible washroom, lower stimulation zones for anyone who needs a break from the sound, picnic tables, and shade.
