Funny and Gay Comedy Festival

Vancouver’s queer comedy scene is experiencing an undeniable boom.

From high-energy stand-up and unscripted improv to campy drag and intimate community workshops, 2SLGBTQiA+ comedians and producers across the city are building spaces that are vibrant, joyful, and fearlessly hilarious. To celebrate this growing momentum, Vancouver is welcoming its first festival dedicated entirely to showcasing local queer comedic talent: the Funny and Gay Comedy Festival (FAG Fest).

Founded by local producers and comedians Aron MacDonald (they/them) and Andrea Feltrin (she/they), the festival was built on two simple principles: being both funny and gay. Aron, host of Comedy in the Afternoon and co-producer of Boy-ish Comedy, brings their energetic, sharp-witted perspective on queerness and everyday life. Andrea, a hybrid filmmaker-comedian and former Event Manager at the Vancouver Short Film Festival, brings over a decade of creative experience and self-deprecating humor.

Running from November 10–15, 2026, the festival offers six days of non-stop laughs across several local venues. The lineup features a diverse mix of programming, including the Open Michelle open mic at Little Mountain Gallery, Queer Prov, Boy-ish Comedy at The Closet Upstairs, Camp! Comedy! at the Fox Cabaret, Crowns & Clowns drag brunch, See Lai Asian comedy, Comedy in the Afternoon at The Pleasant, and an introductory Stand Up Comedy Workshop. Whether you are a longtime fan of the local scene or looking to discover queer comedy for the first time, FAG Fest offers a welcoming space to connect, laugh, and celebrate the city's comedic talent.

Keep tabs on the website for updates to their lineup.
