The Cutting Edges—Vancouver’s premier LGBTQ+ Hockey Association—is proud to host the Pacific Cup 2026, an LGBTQ+ adult hockey tournament taking place July 31–August 1, 2026, in Metro Vancouver.Timed perfectly during Vancouver Pride Weekend, the tournament brings together LGBTQ+ players, passionate supporters, and allies from across North America, Europe, and Central America for two action-packed days of sport, inclusion, and community.
🏒 Fast-Paced Action Meets Global Community
The games will take place at Scotia Barn in Burnaby, one of the largest multi-ice arena complexes in the world.To foster new connections and high-level fun, the Pacific Cup utilizes a unique draft-style team format. This setup encourages balanced competition, fair play, and pure inclusion, allowing participants to share the ice with new teammates from all corners of the globe.“The tournament reflects the Cutting Edges Hockey Association’s commitment to creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ athletes and allies while promoting diversity in sport,” says Cutting Edges President Kyle McCarthy. “There is a safe space in hockey for everyone, and the Cutting Edges are proud to lead that charge.”
Unprecedented Demand
The hype for this year's cup is real. Player registration sold out in less than 28 hours, leaving a substantial waitlist of hopeful players. This surge highlights the massive growing demand for LGBTQ+-inclusive sports tournaments worldwide.“Pacific Cup 2026 features a round-robin format followed by championship play, with every participant guaranteed four games over two days,” says Tournament Director Brett Hagardt. “Off the ice, attendees will enjoy community events including a welcome gathering, an awards banquet, and the opportunity to walk in the Vancouver Pride Parade with the Cutting Edges.”

Founded in 1994, The Cutting Edges – Vancouver’s LGBTQ+ Hockey Association provides a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ players and allies to play hockey, build community, and drive diversity in the sport. The organization boasts over 130 members across nine teams competing in two Metro Vancouver leagues: the Adult Safe Hockey League (Burnaby) and the Adult Recreational Co-Ed Hockey League (Vancouver).
